First Review: Metroid Other M

So, I realise I've been putting a pretty large emphasis on the writing aspect of this blog, so I figured I'd go a different route and throw up a review of the Wii adaptation of the long-standing Metroid series, Metroid Other M (Yes, I'm aware the first Metroid game for the Wii was actually Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, but that was a continuation of the Metroid Prime series from the gamecube, not a brand-new game with a different setting, like Other M is.)

Also, if you haven't played this game and plan to but don't want anything spoiled, don't read this review; I cannot guarantee I will be able to give a spoiler-free review.  All others continue after the break!

Sisterhood of Shadow

A project I was pretty happy with until I ended up hitting a wall; gonna post up what I have, but just remember I'll probably be scrapping this for something better organised.

X4-A2

Random idea I've been toying with for a while.  Don't know what I'm gonna do with it, but I like the idea - any comments/suggestions/ideas would be welcome.

Mountain Dew Cupcakes

So, just randomly stumbling around the internet and ran across this masterpiece that just sounds damn awesome.  I just couldn't help but post it xD

Ardulace Melghym sat quietly in the corner of the large room, scowling at her fellow priestesses.  Since the coup months earlier, she had been barricaded within the academy with fourscore adepts.  They had plenty of food to last decades if the need arose, but Ardulace did not have the patience to wait decades.

Phaeratar walked with purpose, but inside he was afraid.  He was headed for the academy for his test.  He was in his last year and knew that he had to pass this test.  But it wasn't like any test he had ever had: he was twelfth in the class, and the test depended on besting a weapon master from a lowly house.  He couldn't even recall the name of the house - Teken'tlar or something - but he knew the man didn't rise to weapon master by being a pushover.

ORDER OF THE BROKEN ROSE

Zak walked calmly through his domain.  This part of the city was his, and he was loathe to let anyone think otherwise. He walked into the brothel and took in the scents.  As always, the air smelled of blood, sweat, and other bodily fluids.  Most of the men who came here loved taking control over the female species.  After all, to take control of those who controlled the  council was the essence of satisfaction.
